BREASTFEEDING WEEK CELEBRATION

Theme: “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents”
Venues: Government Hospital, Periyanaickenpalayam & Government Hospital, Mettupalayam

The Student Nurses’ Association of United College of Nursing observed World Breastfeeding Week during the first week of August 2025 at Periyanaickenpalayam GH and Mettupalayam GH, in alignment with the global theme “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents.” The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and promote supportive environments for working mothers.

Activities included health education sessions, poster presentations, skits, and interactive discussions led by nursing students. Educational pamphlets were distributed to antenatal and postnatal mothers. The public actively participated, and hospital staff appreciated the efforts made by the students.

The event was a success, promoting community awareness and reinforcing the critical role of nurses in maternal and child health.
